McConnell Secretly, Profanely Cheered Trump’s Impeachment

The following article, McConnell Secretly, Profanely Cheered Trump’s Impeachment, was first published on Flag And Cross.

As we begin to head into the midterm election cycle proper, there are going to be quite a few alleged “revelations” coming our way, as politicos on both sides of the aisle attempt to convince us to give them our vote.

On the left, there will be a lot of talk about Donald Trump, surely.  The liberals will attempt to convince you that any vote for a Republican runs the risk of some grand “coup” or “insurrection”, and that the right cannot be trusted.

Or, worse still, they’ll attempt to sow the seeds of discord within their conservative colleagues, by trying to drive a wedge into the middle of the party.

The GOP has already found itself in the grips of a diet civil war, and the latest reports regarding Mitch McConnell post-J6 behavior certainly isn’t going to help.

Establishment Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) lauded the Democrats for launching Donald Trump’s impeachment trial after January 6, according to the New York Times.

Following the incident, McConnell was grateful to Democrats for taking action against his long-time political opponent, the New York Times reported. His comments were not only surprising, but also a bit uncouth.

“The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us,” McConnell purportedly said. “If this isn’t impeachable, I don’t know what is.”

McConnell would go on to vote for Donald Trump’s acquittal in his second impeachment trial, and for a snake-like reason.

After Trump’s acquittal, McConnell reportedly divulged to a friend he voted in favor of defending Trump because he needed to keep his job as GOP Senate leader. “I didn’t get to be leader by voting with five people in the conference,” McConnell said.

Mitch McConnell is not up for reelection in 2022.
