Alex Jones Looking to Make Deal with J6 Committee

The following article, Alex Jones Looking to Make Deal with J6 Committee, was first published on Flag And Cross.

If the select committee investigating the events of January 6th, 2021 has any hope of accomplishing anything before the “red wave” of the 2022 midterms wipes them from the political ether, they’re going to need a miracle.

The investigation, which was originally advertised as anything but a retrial of Donald Trump’s second impeachment has devolved into little more than a wide-scoped fishing expedition of late, with Pelosi and her crew consistently targeting the former President, his inner circle, and even his family.

Make no mistake about it: The J6 committee understands that they aren’t going to accomplish much, so digging for dirt to help the Democrats in the 2022 midterms appears to be their consolation prize.

And while it might not be the miracle they need, the investigation just got a wild offer from one of the alternative media’s zaniest characters.

Far-right talk show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has indicated his willingness to sit for an interview with federal prosecutors leading the Justice Department’s expanded investigation into the January 6 Capitol riot and rally, according to The New York Times.

In a statement via his lawyer, Jones said he sent the government a formal letter communicating his “desire” to talk with investigators about the role he played in the rally that preceded the riot, the outlet reported.

The InfoWars host was involved in planning and funding the “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6, 2021, and gave an impassioned speech encouraging the crowd of Trump supporters to march to the Capitol.

Jones has been on the probe’s radar for a while:

In December, Jones sued the House select committee, aiming to avoid handing over documents for a deposition. When he did eventually testify before the panel earlier this year, Jones invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination almost 100 times.

Jones’ apparent change of heart comes two weeks after another top rally organizer, Ali Alexander, said he was cooperating with the Justice Department’s investigationafter he received a subpoena from a federal grand jury.

Jones’ change of heart comes just days after it was revealed that several of his Infowars’ adjacent business ventures would be filing for bankruptcy on account of a default judgement against the media host for his comments regarding the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
