If you were to take a peek at the online chatter surrounding the death of Gabby Petito, there is one theme that permeates it all, unflinchingly: The belief that Brian Laundrie, his family, and their lawyer, are all hiding some terrible secret.
It’s easy to understand why this is the prevailing concern; Laundrie and the family refused to cooperate with police searching for the then-missing Petito, and, just before her body was found near a campsite that the two visited some weeks earlier, Brain himself went missing.
It took only days for authorities to make Brian a fugitive, charging him with bank fraud over the use of Petito’s credit cards after her death.
Now, in a move that will almost certainly spur more speculation on the matter, the lawyer for the Laundrie family is making sure to clean up the timeline of Brian’s disappearance.
Florida fugitive Brian Laundrie was last seen by his parents Sept. 13, according to family attorney Steven Bertolino. He had previously said the Laundries last saw their son Sept. 14.
“The Laundries were basing the date Brian left on their recollection of certain events,” Bertolino told Fox News on Tuesday.
“Upon further communication with the FBI and confirmation of the Mustang being at the Laundrie residence on Wednesday, Sept. 15, we now believe the day Brian left to hike in the preserve was Monday, Sept. 13.”
Earlier this month, a hiker along the Appalachian Trail alerted authorities after spotting someone whom he believed to be Laundrie, and having a peculiar and eerie conversation with the man.
