At this moment in time, Joe Biden’s presidency has soured. He and the Democrats who begged him to run believed that he could sit behind the Resolute Desk, exude some grandfatherly aura, and coast through 4 years.
As we all know, this has not been the case, and the list of urgent problems that Joe Biden is juggling at the moment would not be the envy of any political operative anywhere in the world.
And while it’s still early, we can already begin to see how Biden’s redundant failures are taking a toll on him, politically, for his presumed 2024 reelection run.
Voters favor former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, an Emerson College survey released this week found.
The national survey, taken August 30 to September 1, 2021, among 1,200 registered voters, presented respondents with a series of hypothetic 2024 matchups.
The former president slightly edges out Biden in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup, 47 percent to 46 percent.
And what about other non-Trump Republicans?
The survey also presented respondents with a head-to-head matchup between Biden and Never Trumper Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT). In that scenario, Biden takes a commanding lead, 42 percent to Romney’s 23 percent.
Florida. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) fared better than Romney, coming within 12 points of the president, but neither performed as well as Trump.
We’ve known for a few months that Joe Biden would have an uphill battle to remain a contender in 2024, but now we’ve gotten the actual lay of the land, and it may be time for the Commander in Chief to get to work.
