Judge Sanctions Sidney Powell, Lin Wood Over 2020 Election Case

The following article, Judge Sanctions Sidney Powell, Lin Wood Over 2020 Election Case, was first published on Flag And Cross.

It certainly is beginning to appear as though there is a coordinated effort among the anti-Trump masses to erase any and all trace of his beliefs surrounding the 2020 election.

First and foremost, of course, was the swift removal of Donald Trump from social media following the events of January 6th, with companies like Twitter and Facebook suggesting that Trump was too dangerous to remain on their platforms.

And then there was the arbitrary dismissal of a number of court cases, brought by Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and others, that sought to shed light on the purported evidence that they had gathered suggesting that something was amiss in the electoral contest.

Now, in another step toward burying the issue, two pro-Trump lawyers have been sanctioned by a federal judge over their own cases.

U.S. District Judge Linda Parker chastised the cadre of conservative lawyers including Sidney Powell and L. Lin Wood, calling the lawsuit they filed against Michigan’s election of Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States “a historic and profound abuse of the judicial process.”

“It is one thing to take on the charge of vindicating rights associated with an allegedly fraudulent election. It is another to take on the charge of deceiving a federal court and the American people into believing that rights were infringed, without regard for whether any laws or rights were in fact violated,” she said in her 110-page opinion. “This is what happened here.”

The penalties were laid out this week.

n her opinion on Wednesday, Parker said the lawyers “have scorned their oath flouted the rules and attempted to undermine the integrity of the judiciary along the way.”

For doing so, she ordered the attorneys be sanctioned, to jointly pay the fees and costs incurred by the defendants during the case and for each lawyer to complete at least 12 hours of continuing legal education, at least six hours of pleading standards and six hours of election law, within the next six months.

Powell, along with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and the aforementioned Giuliani, is facing a defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems as well, which seeks well over $1 billion in damages.
