While Afghanistan was in flames this week, the Commander in Chief of the United States was essentially nowhere to be found.
Joe Biden, a man who many have suggested played a part in allowing for the Taliban to flourish and conquer the nation of Afghanistan in a matter of days, was simply gone. He wasn’t in front of the cameras, he wasn’t addressing the nation via social media…heck, he wasn’t even at the White House.
President Joe Biden will remain hidden at his presidential retreat at Camp David through Monday, according to the White House, as the Taliban swiftly seized control of Afghanistan.
The president’s daily guidance for Monday indicated Biden would remain at Camp David for at least one more day, with no public events scheduled.
And, even wilder:
It remains unclear whether Biden will speak from Camp David or return to the White House to deliver his speech, the reports noted. He was previously scheduled to remain at Camp David until Wednesday.
This non-response prompted a great deal of criticism for Biden online, with “#BidenMustResign” trending on Twitter Sunday evening, partially prompted by a scathing statement issued by former President Donald Trump.
