The following article, Oregon Gov. Signs Bill Allowing Students to Graduate without Being Able to Read, Write, or Do Math, was first published on Flag And Cross.
Oregon’s leftist Democrat Gov., Kate Brown, signed a bill into law last week allowing students to graduate high school without having to read, write, or do math.
This is no less than the dumbing down of America not to mention making a joke of our education system.
Brown signed Senate Bill 744 but declined to comment on just why she was supporting a bill that allows students to graduate high school without having proficiency in some of the most important skills students need for life.
Amazingly, the governor’s deputy communications director, Charles Boyle, celebrated the bill saying it would somehow help blacks and other minorities — who are apparently too stupid to learn — get a chance to get a diploma.
Boyle said in a statement the relaxing the proficiency requirements will benefit “Oregon’s Black, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal, and students of color.”
“Leaders from those communities have advocated time and again for equitable graduation standards, along with expanded learning opportunities and support,” Boyle said.
It would be a diploma that has no meaning, of course, so why require them to go to school at all?
Leftists in the state have claimed that requiring students to be able to read and write is racist and unfair in the midst of a pandemic. They want the standards suspended at least until the class of 2024 graduates.
The state is looking to revise its education standards after the 2024 season.
