It has been almost 5 months since Donald Trump’s first term as President has ended, but you wouldn’t know it by the way the left continues to obsess and obfuscate on the subject of all-things-MAGA.
This is likely due to the fact that Trump isn’t going anywhere. He’s still the most powerful figure in the Republican Party, he knows it, and he’s not afraid to remind everyone of that at all times. His voters represent a key demographic for anyone in the GOP who wishes to remain in office, and he wields this power well.
And this is why Trump Derangement Syndrome still exists, even though The Don isn’t in the West Wing.
The latest example of the barely-fictional affliction comes to us from one of the FBI’s former assistant directors.
Frank Figliuzzi, who served as assistant director for FBI Counterintelligence under Obama, said Tuesday that members of Congress as well as certain Trump administration officials might need to be arrested in order to prevent a repeat of the January 6 Capitol riot.

In order to really tackle terrorism — and this time domestically — you’ve got to attack and dismantle the command-and-control element of a terrorist group. And unfortunately, and I know this is painful to hear, that may mean people sitting in Congress right now, people in and around the former president. That’s how you do this. Otherwise recruitment, inciting, and cult-like leadership continues to recruit people to violence.”
Trump himself was acquitted of “inciting a riot” by the Senate during his second impeachment trial, and no charges have yet been filed against any members of Congress, making Figliuzzi’s suggestion whimsical at best.
