The following article, California Restaurant Owner Hits Mask-Wearers with $5 Additional Charge, was first published on Flag And Cross.
A California cafe owner is making a statement about ending mask-wearing by charging a $5 additional fee to customers who insist on wearing them to be able eat in his establishment.
Mask Nazis who wander in for a bite at Fiddleheads Cafe in Mendocino, California, may not be happy when they look at their check and see the additional charge. But Chris Castleman, 34, who owns the place is done with the over-the-top reaction to the coronavirus.
“I don’t think $5 to charity is too much to ask from mask wearing customers who claim to care so much about the community they live in,” Castleman told NBC News.
The restaurant owner said he intends to donate the fees he collects to a domestic abuse organization.
“It’s about time that the proponents of these ineffective government measures start paying for the collateral damage they have collectively caused,” he added.
Castleman also blamed those who are still wearing a mask as being “complicit” with the lies and mismanagement of the government’s response to the virus.
“The government shut everything down. Everyone wearing a mask is complicit,” he said.
“I don’t believe in mask wearing,” Castleman exclaimed. “Our customer base has been strongly aligned with our beliefs, but I think some are really angry at our cafe.”
“It’s their choice,” he concluded. “They can choose what business they support. They can go to any other business in my county, state.”
Castleman also added a discount for those who would throw their mask in the garage can when they walked in.
