There is nothing more purely infuriating in the world of sports than watching professional athlete, often being paid an exorbitant sum to play a children’s game, decide to play the referees and not the game itself.

We see this fairly often in soccer, as players attempt to draw a foul by exaggerating the contact made with another player, hoping to goad an official into handing over a free kick or some other advantage.

This “flopping” has migrated to the NBA as well, with LeBron James standing accused of near-constant exaggeration.

But baseball?  Oh, you had better believe that this unsportsmanlike charade has begun to make an appearance in America’s national pastime…and fans are not happy about it.

Some fans were also concerned that the umpires and officials were unable to employ video review for the play, thanks to the way in which the rules surrounding the use of that technology were written.
