The following article, New Poll Says Trump Will Retain Power Over Republican Party, was first published on Flag And Cross.
According to a brand new poll, President Donald Trump is going to keep a lot of power and influence over the Republican Party and, should he not get a second term, will be the heavy favorite to become the 2024 GOP nominee.
The poll was conducted by Morning Consult/Politico, and says Trump is already at the top of a list of 14 potential presidential candidates, with 68 percent of GOP voters saying they consider Trump to be the most in touch with the party’s rank and file members.
via Newsmax:
The poll, conducted from Nov. 21-23 among 669 Republicans and 1,990 voters overall, comes as Trump and many in the party are challenging the election. Newsmax has not called the election.
The poll also showed:
-
71% of Republican voters say Trump is effective and committed to the country’s best interests, but just 17% say the same of congressional Republicans.
-
56% say Trump is predominantly looking out for the party’s best interests.
-
54% said they’d back Trump in a primary contest.
-
12% said they’d back Vice President Mike Pence.
-
8% would back Donald Trump Jr. against his father.
-
4% of Republicans each said they would support Texas Sen. Ted Cruz or former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Other members of the GOP, such as Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Rick Scott of Florida, and Josh Hawley of Missouri, got even less support for a potential 2024 presidential bid.
President Trump has made it clear already that he wants to continue being influential in the Republican Party. He’s kept Ronna McDaniel as the chair to the Republican National Committee and has already built a political action committee.
What this means is that if the left succeeds in stealing this election, they might be ousting Trump from the White House, but they are not done with him yet. In fact, he’s planning to stick around and be a thorn in their flesh regardless.
That’s going to cause a stir, wouldn’t you agree?
