He’s Out – Beto O’Rourke Officially Exits 2020 Presidential Race, Trump Responds [Details]

The following article, He’s Out – Beto O’Rourke Officially Exits 2020 Presidential Race, Trump Responds [Details], was first published on Flag And Cross.

Beto O’Rourke just can’t win. He lost his senate race to Ted Cruz in 2018. Now, just a year later, he has officially lost his bid for the presidency. Too bad!

O’Rourke’s exit from the 2020 race comes as no surprise. He’ll be followed soon enough by the likes of Kamala, Buttigieg, Booker, Sanders, and Warren, most likely leaving Joe Biden with the Democrat nomination – unless Hillary Clinton decides to jump into the fray.

But we’re still a ways out from seeing Donald Trump having an official challenger for POTUS. Until then, enjoy Beto’s concession and Trump’s reaction…

Former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke says he’s ending his presidential campaign

Here’s Trump’s response:

Oh no, Beto just dropped out of race for President despite him saying he was “born for this.” I don’t think so!

I guess he isn’t coming for my ARs any more???

BREAKING: Beto O’Rourke has dropped out of the 2020 presidential race. That makes it two failed campaigns in one year! 🤣

Let this be a lesson: Running on destroying the Second Amendment and stripping Americans of their firearms is never a good idea. #ByeBeto

Just think, the next time Beto goes to a library and stands on a table he could be arrested.

Beto could have been a major player in the 2020 Texas Senate race.

Instead, he’ll be an asterisk in political history.

Beto’s political career is done. Two abysmally run campaigns back to back.

Beto’s final words…

Our campaign has always been about seeing clearly, speaking honestly, and acting decisively.

In that spirit: I am announcing that my service to the country will not be as a candidate or as the nominee.

I am grateful to all the people who made up the heart and soul of this campaign. You were among the hundreds of thousands who made a donation, signed up to volunteer or spread the word about this campaign and our opportunity to help decide the election of our lifetime.

Let us continue to fearlessly champion the issues and causes that brought us together. Whether it is ending the epidemic of gun violence or dismantling structural racism or successfully confronting climate change, we will continue to organize and mobilize and act.

We will work to ensure that the Democratic nominee is successful in defeating Donald Trump in 2020. I can tell you firsthand from having the chance to know the candidates, we will be well served by any one of them, and I’m going to be proud to support whoever she or he is.

Thank you for making this campaign possible, and for continuing to believe that we can turn this moment of great peril into a moment of great promise for America and the world.

From Fox News:

O’Rourke sought to make gun control a top issue in his campaign, most notably after the Aug. 3 mass shooting in his hometown of El Paso. He went so far as to embrace the confiscation of certain firearms, memorably saying in a September debate, “Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15.”

The 47-year-old O’Rourke was urged to run for president by many Democrats who were energized by last year’s narrow Senate in reliably Republican Texas. He raised an astonishing amount of money from small donors across the country, visited every county in the Lone Star State and used social media and livestreaming video to engage directly with voters. He ultimately lost to Cruz by three percentage points.

Let’s hear your thoughts…

After his “take away American’s guns” campaign statements, the “want to be a Mexican” moron will never hold a major office. He might find a socialistic district or city for his next office with like minded democrat voters?
