The following article, FLASHBACK: AOC Compares Border Wall to ‘Berlin Wall’ – A ‘Monument to White Supremacy’ [Watch], was first published on Flag And Cross.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become known for her ramblings on Instagram Live.
Given that she’s a Millennial, it’s a smart way for her to connect with fans.
During a recent feed, AOC went off on everything from President Trump and the border wall to white supremacy and the failed Amazon headquarters deal.
Check out some of her rantings…
“I think everybody should have the insurance I have and that’s just the way it should be.”
“I think [the wall is] a moral abomination. I think it’s like the Berlin wall. 70 percent of the American people think this is the dumbest idea ever.”
“It’s not my problem the majority of the American people think it’s a scam, a sham, a monument to white supremacy. It’s not my fault.”
“For those of you who don’t know about the actual deal, you should know that New York City was getting totally screwed with this Amazon deal. We were, like, on paper giving helipads. We were, like, renaming creeks. We were providing, like, hard tangible tax breaks for very little on the paper in return. The process was designed to skip every community process.”
“If I just walk up to you on the street and say, ‘hey, if you give me twenty bucks, I promise I’m gonna come back – I’m gonna leave but I gonna promise I’m gonna come back and give you a really nice coat. But I need to leave, I need to take your twenty bucks first, it’s not going to happen at once.’ You’d be like, ‘you’re crazy, no, get out of my face.’”
Amazon had planned to build one of two new headquarters in the Empire State. Alexandria was against the decision from the beginning.
On Thursday, the Jeff Bezos-led company made it clear that they were not going to move to New York.
Estimates projected the headquarters would’ve employed 25,000 people.
Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo was ticked off at a “small group of politicians.” He wants them “held accountable” for their actions.
In other words, he’s calling out his fellow liberals for how things went down.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo unloaded on a “small group of politicians” and their “narrow political interests” Thursday after Amazon confirmed they were withdrawing plans to build a massive headquarters in New York City.
Cuomo noted, “We gave Amazon the opportunity to be a good neighbor and do business in the greatest city in the world. Instead of working with the community, Amazon threw away that opportunity.”
NEW: Gov. Andrew Cuomo: "A small group politicians put their own narrow political interests above their community…The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage. They should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity." https://t.co/vnkdiUJXwZ pic.twitter.com/qjjYBpPCnO
