Is the realm of social media part of the public domain?  That’s something that The White House is hoping to get answers to starting this week.

For years, an increasingly vociferous effort has been made by the larger social media platforms to influence our nation’s political process.  Through ever-more sinister tactics such as “shadowbanning”, these massive corporations are throttling the voices of We The People in whatever manner they see fit.

This runs counter to our inalienable right to free speech, yet these companies are “getting away with it” due to their classification as private entities.  This is the equivalent of a disallowing protesters on the lawn of a corrupt politician because a private company is in charge of mowing the grass.

President Trump has long vowed to come to the First Amendment’s aid in this regard, and has established a protocol in which affected Americans can voice their concerns.

The White House on Wednesday launched a tool for people to report instances of perceived social media bias, signaling President Donald Trump’s and top Republicans’ plan to continue vilifying technology companies, which are currently seen as political villains by many in the conservative base.

“The Trump Administration is fighting for free speech online,” the White House tweetedWednesday afternoon. “No matter your views, if you suspect political bias has caused you to be censored or silenced online, we want to hear about it!”
The White House’s tweet directed people to a form which first asked users for personal information, such as their name and whether they are an American citizen
It is assumed that these complaints will be compiled and investigated by federal experts, further pressuring these social media companies into adhering to the Constitutional right of all Americans to have their voices heard equally.
