The following article, MUELLER DAY: Bill Barr Drops Bombshells Ahead of Mueller Report Release, was first published on Flag And Cross.
Today will be a day that American history will not soon forget, and Attorney General Bill Barr is part and parcel to the drama.
Thursday marks the public release of the redacted version of Robert Mueller’s report on alleged Russian “collusion” in the 2016 election; a move which many fear could impact the Presidency of Donald Trump in unheard of ways. Just an hour and half before the report went public, however, Bill Barr held a press conference in which a number of strange and shocking admissions were made.
The Justice Department considered President Donald Trump’s frustrations about media and political speculation about the Russia investigation when deciding whether to charge him with obstructing the probe, Attorney General William Barr said Thursday.
Barr said the Justice Department considered the “unprecedented situation” Trump faced entering office and what he called “substantial evidence” in Mueller’s report “to show that the president was frustrated and angered” by media speculation and a belief that the probe undermined his presidency.
Of course, this begs the question: Does it matter what the President’s perception of the probe is? After all, he was a target of the investigation…it wouldn’t be too likely to find him leaning back in his chair and grinning ear-to-ear at the thought of it.
This will undoubtedly be the story of the day, as the redacted Mueller report is set to hit the public and Congress at 11am.
