There is no longer any doubt about the crisis on the border, no matter what spin the infotainment industry puts on it.
President Trump has long been sounding the alarm regarding a coming crisis on the southern border, much to the dismay of the “resistance” minded democrats. These liberal never-Trumpers must toe the party line in 2019, which means that they must oppose the President at every turn…even if that means eschewing their own public beliefs on the border from merely months or years ago.
To make matters worse, US Customs and Border Protection has been extremely vocal in their concerns as well, saying that the immigration system is at a “breaking point”…something that the “resistance” faction of legislators has conveniently ignored.
Now, in an effort to perhaps shift the focus away from himself and back to the struggles at the border, the President is floating the idea of an “immigration czar”.

Kobach and Cuccinelli are far-right conservatives with strong views on immigration. Cuccinelli was seen at the White House on Monday.

The planning comes as Trump is threatening anew to close the U.S.-Mexico border as soon as this week if Mexico does not completely halt illegal immigration into the U.S. And it serves as the latest sign that the president plans to continue to hammer his hardline immigration rhetoric and policies as he moves past the special counsel’s Russia investigation and works to rally his base heading into his 2020 re-election campaign.
While there is no timeline set for such an appointment, we already know that there will be plenty of resistance to it, predictably.
