Special Counsel Robert Mueller didn’t find any connection between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia.
After two long years of searching, Mueller and team confirmed what conservatives had known from the start.
And yet, that doesn’t mean Congressional Democrats are done digging for dirt.
You can expect the “Russia collusion” narrative to live on as long as President Trump remains commander-in-chief – and that could be for while longer.
Now, Dems are panicking – and they are looking to make big moves.
From Daily Wire:
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called an emergency conference call of Democratic leadership Saturday afternoon to discuss how to proceed amid news that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials, may not result in a presidential indictment.
“Today, we are having an emergency Caucus conference call at 3:00 p.m. E.T. to discuss the transmittal of the Mueller report to the Department of Justice (DOJ),” Pelosi wrote in a letter to colleagues issued Saturday morning, “While we do not know the substance of the report, we will have the relevant Committees of jurisdiction on the call today to update Members on where we go from here.”
Pelosi also made clear, in her letter ahead of the call, that Democrats do not intend to let the issue of Russian collusion go, even if Mueller’s report — as suspected — shows no evidence of actual collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials to impact the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election.
Fox News host Chris Wallace isn’t exactly 100% pro-Trump.
There are times he’s in 45’s corner, and there are times he’s not. It is what it is.
At the very least, Fox News can definitively say they are “fair and balanced” in that they provide viewers with both sides of the political debate.
After Special Counsel Robert Mueller handed over his Russia collusion report to Attorney General William Barr, which indicated no further indictments would be handed down, Wallace was a little perplexed.
In fact, he was a lot perplexed.
From Federalist Papers:
Federalist editor Mollie Hemingway appeared with Wallace, Juan Williams and others after the report was submitted to Attorney general Bill Barr.
Hemingway said, “The fact that there are no more indictments coming and the fact that all of the indictments we’ve seen thus far have been for process crimes are things unrelated to what we’ve been told by so many people in the media with treason, collusion to steal a 2016 election, I think it’s very significant.”
Hemingway added, “But if there is nothing there, that matches what we’ve heard from the media for many years, there needs to be a reckoning, and the people who spread this theory both inside and outside the government who were not critical and did not behave appropriately, need to be held accountable.”
“We don’t want to rush to judgement and I think that since this report has come out, since no one has seen it, to say that somehow this clears the president seems like the height of rushing to judgment.”
“People talk about the appointment of the special counsel. The fact is the reason the special counsel was appointed is because Trump fired James Comey in the middle of his investigation.”
“If Comey had been allowed to finish his investigation there probably wouldn’t have been an special counsel.”
“I’m also a little surprised at this talk about process crimes. Process crimes are not parking tickets. Process crimes are lying to federal prosecutors, they’re lying to the FBI.”
