While elementary school is meant to be a time for assimilation and light learning, (with plenty of naps and snack breaks), one educational institution in California is in a dire and desperate state.
The sad story comes to us from Ripon, California, where a cell phone tower within feet of the school is the subject of a hot debate. Not because of some land-lease embezzlement scheme or the like, but for a reason far more concerning and heart wrenching.
Parents at the school are blaming this cell phone tower for the sudden trend of students at the school coming down with cancer.
Upon examination by a doctor, one mother was sure that her son was a victim of the tower:
“We had a doctor tell us that it’s 100 percent environmental, the kind of tumor that he has,” said Monica Ferrulli.
Her son Mason was the second child to be diagnosed with cancer in just three years at Weston Elementary. He was 10-years-old and walked by this cell phone tower daily.
As local experts continue to weigh in on the dangers of the tower, especially in the case of these young children whose cellular development is still ongoing, the school district is refusing to consider any change to the current setup. The reason being: The school receives a $2,000 per month kickback from the cell phone company for the space.
This willful negligence-for-cash scheme is the embodiment of greed and gluttony, and will likely cause a great headache for the school district as the story spreads.
