While the whiles and whims of youth are often eschewed once a freshman congressperson first crosses the threshold of their new office on Capitol Hill, political hypocrisy is often waiting in the wings to take its place.
Unfortunately, in the case of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she seems impervious to this metamorphosis, and is carrying both the whimsical self-idealizations of her youth, and she has taken on the democratic creed of hypocrisy, all in the first few months of her first term.
AOC, (as writers prefer to call her), recently raised eyebrows the nation over by declaring that she is “the boss”, and not to question her work on the multi-trillion dollar “Green New Deal”. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez has apparently forgotten that she is a public servant whose salary is paid out of our salaries.
Now the cocktail curator-turned-congresswoman is continuing to bark orders to her subservient constituents, admonishing them for the amount of “cow farts” produced their consumption of cheeseburger….
…While dining out and watching her chief of staff scarf down cheeseburgers.
On Tuesday night, an image scorched across Twitter showing Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, sitting down for dinner together.
While sitting no more than a foot away, Ocasio-Cortez watched as Chakrabarti ordered a hamburger and chowed it down right in front of her.
AOC then went on Twitter herself, attempting to the shame the man shaming her, by feebly comparing him to some sort of stalker.
The lame retort wasn’t well accepted on social media.
Again, it should be remembered that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a public servant, and it is very much the duty of her bosses, We The People, to be on the lookout for her hypocrisy.
