New Jersey Senator Cory Booker now appears set to run for president in 2020.
He would join Harris, Gillibrand, Castro, Warren, Gabbard, and a couple smaller names – for now.
Biden, Bernie, Holder and others may still run for office themselves.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) on Thursday began calling members of Congress informing them he is running for president and is quietly making overtures to members for support, three congressional sources told The Hill.
“Yes, he is reaching out to members for their support,” said a former Democratic aide with direct knowledge of Booker’s intentions. “He’s going to do it during Black History Month,” which starts on Friday.
Minnesota Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar also may run for president.
After a federal judge declared Obamacare unconstitutional, Klobuchar went on CBS to claim America needs “universal health care.”
Run on that, Amy. See how it works out for you.
From Free Beacon:
“Face the Nation” host Margret Brennan asked Klobuchar if Democrats should now move to push Medicare for all.
“You heard some disagreement among Republicans how to do that, also disagreement within the Democratic Party on how to handle health care. Former Attorney General Eric Holder says it’s time now to move to some version of Medicare for all and end this nonsense,” Brennan said. “Do you agree with him?”
Klobuchar: “We need universal health care. There are many ways to get there. That is one of them. The other is to at least expand Medicare to age 55. There’s a number of bills that I’m part of, including allowing expansion of Medicaid, which I think is something we’re not talking enough about, that [Democratic] Senator Schatz from Hawaii is leading.”
“The ruling was absurd. Justice Roberts, in conservative Court, has already ruled that the Affordable Care Act is constitutional, unlike what Mr. Miller said. And in fact, you can have part of it not exist and you can still have the rest of it protect Americans. And that is exactly where this is headed.”
2019 and 2020 are going to be just as wild as 2015 and 2016 once Democrats finally announce their presidential bids.
Booker of New Jersey and Sen. Kamala Harris have most things in common, including wanting to implement universal basic income.
It is literally free money.
UBI would give new meaning to the phrase “reckless government spending,” not to mention taxes would spike around the nation.
From Daily Wire:
The plan, largely known as “universal basic income” (UBI) would redistribute money from working Americans to low-income citizens. Harris, who, like Booker, is looking to run for president in 2020, unveiled a plan last month that would give families making less than $100,000 a year up to $500 a month, or $6,000 a year, in tax credits. Individuals making less than $50,000 would get up to $250 a month in tax credits from the government.
This is who Democrats might want to run for president in 2020?
