POOF: California City College Board Eliminates Pledge of Allegiance – It’s Gone

And just like that, the Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees has eliminated the Pledge of Allegiance from all future meetings.

The reason?

The pledge is apparently “steeped in expressions of nativism and white nationalism.”

In other words, it’s racist.

From Campus Reform:

In emails obtained exclusively by Campus Reform, the president of the SBCC Board of Trustees, Robert Miller, stated that he decided to “discontinue use of the Pledge of Allegiance” at board meetings because of its history.

Live stream videos of the board’s past several meetings show that the last time members recited the Pledge of Allegiance during a board meeting was Dec. 13. During the Jan. 10 live-streamed meeting, Miller noted at the beginning that it was his first meeting as president of the board. It was also the first meeting since a similar circumstance in summer 2018 that members did not recite the pledge.

“I decided to discontinue use of the Pledge of Allegiance for reasons related to its history and symbolism,” Miller said in an email to Celeste Barber, a former adjunct instructor at SBCC. “I have discovered that the Pledge of Allegiance has a history steeped in expressions of nativism and white nationalism.”

Californians got exactly what they asked for when they elected Gavin Newsom to replace Jerry Brown as governor.

No surprises, whatsoever.

For example, a new tax on water is headed the Golden State’s way…

From SF Gate:

In order to help disadvantaged communities obtain safe and affordable drinking water, California Governor Gavin Newsom is proposing a new statewide water tax.

In the newly-released 2019-20 budget, Newsom calls for the creation of a “safe and affordable drinking water fund” that would “enable the State Water Resources Control Board to assist communities, particularly disadvantaged communities, in paying for the short-term and long-term costs of obtaining access to safe and affordable drinking water.”

Before departing office, Jerry Brown made sure to defend his “sanctuary state” policies while disparaging the memory of deceased Police Officer Ronil Singh.

Outgoing Democrat California Gov. Jerry Brown decided to defend the state’s sanctuary laws in one of his final acts as governor, saying that Cpl. Ronil Singh’s death had “nothing to do” with them.

Brown: “In this case, the individual had been arrested and actually convicted twice of driving under the influence and there was a warrant out for his arrest and no one picked him up, and he was arrested and brought in to jail and brought into jail before the sanctuary law was even enacted. ICE, the immigration people, could have gone out and gotten him. The police or the sheriff could have told the immigration service.

Newsom, a former mayor and lieutenant governor who despises ICE, is expected to soon push for universal health care and free community college.

Free preschool, too.

His wife will be referred to as the “first partner” of the Golden State.

You know, because “first lady” is apparently too oppressive now.
